BRS Electrical were engaged by BMA (BHP) to complete a detailed electrical design for the replacement of an 80kVA UPS system for their mine site server room.
BRS were also appointed to provide engineering support during the installation process.
The detailed electrical design involved the modification of the existing switchboard and power distribution, as well as the switchroom layout design. The single 80kVA UPS was replaced with a 2 x 40kVA independent UPS systems, providing full redundant power to the server.
Physical space constraints within the room, and the switchboard, required ingenuity in design.
