BRS was employed as a Sub-Contractor to Comlek Group to design the replacement MCC for SEQW North Pine Dam – Dam Gates MCC, that had come to the end of its 40-year working life span. BRS was responsible for the complete electrical engineering package including An Arc Flash hazard analysis for the complete site.

Significant work was required auditing site infrastructure to ensure tie in points were understood and documented and that the new infrastructure would be easy to integrate to the brownfield site.

The design constraint of replacing a switchboard inside the dam proved a challenge, but successfully resolved to the satisfaction of both client and contractors.

The critical nature of North Pine Dam, Dam Gates opining in flooding conditions, while during the MCC replacement stage, also added another level of design challenge that were successfully resolved.
